Ancient city - some think one of the oldest cities - in the Persian Empire located in modern day Iran.  Susa was located in a fertile, alluvial plain approximately 240 kilometers north of the Persian Gulf.  Modern day Susa is said to house the tomb of the prophet Daniel.

The word “autonomy” comes from two Greek words 'autos' and 'nomos' meaning 'self' and 'law.'  In reference to church life, the idea of being autonomous means that a church is self-governed, and not governed or controlled by another organization such as a denomination or the government, with only Jesus Christ as its head.

Transsubstantiation is a term used by some to describe a belief that the bread and wine of communion actually becomes the real presence of Christ; that when a person partakes of the Table elements, those elements transform into the actual blood and body of Christ.  It differs from consubstantiation which emphasizes that somehow Christ is present in the elements, but the elements do not transform into the actual body and blood of Christ.
