Do You Respond to Forums?
This poll cuts to the heart of this portion of the website and simply seeks to find out... do you respond to forums? My sense is that there are three types of people, primarily, when it comes to forum discussions.  Those that do, those that only read, and those that don't.

I know that's an oversimplification, but I don't think I'm far off.  Needless to say, I'm still curious to here from you so respond to the following poll and let us know what you think of forum discussions!  (Written replies are also welcome!)

Do You Respond to Forums?
Apparently I do :o)

Now that the mirth and laughter has died down... I have replied to several threads in the past, though not so much through the summer. Sitting at the computer is an "indoor activity" and once the weather starts to crap out, I shall spend more of my time there (here). I suppose I tend to reply to posts that pique my interest and not to those that don't. We had a bit of a back-and-forth exchange on the subject of "do you attend church while on vacation" which left me feeling like I hadn't been heard at all. I recall having some e-thoughts about why would people come to bethel, ie, what do we offer that might cause people to be drawn to Bethel in particular.

One of my hindrances is that I chose my words carefully, and it takes me a ridiculous amount of time to actually form a thought on paper (or the screen), and I am a poor typist- I have never learned to wean myself off having to look at the keyboard in order to type( I'm self-taught, ergo, I have an idiot for a teacher...). So anytime I sit to write, it really is an investment in time, and time being a precious commodity, I will tend to respond mainly to the subjects that interest me. Like this one. I am interested in this because of the changing nature of how people interact with one another and the ramifications this has for communication of the Gospel of Christ. It's a changing world, folks, are we staying current...? These are things that I think are vital to consider( not that we need jump on every bandwagon, it goes without saying...). So this is about forty minutes worth. Sad, eh? I'll go visit my "computer-widowed" wife and daughter now.

Dan.

Do You Respond to Forums?
Basically, I respond to email, because I have learned how and I do it often enough not to forget how.  So, when I received in my email a "New Forum Thread" I read it.  It tells me to respond to a poll.  I click on one of the blue links and find myself at Bethel's website, looking at a copy of the email I just received.  I push the mouse on the giant blue question mark, hoping that maybe that will activate the poll.  Nothing.  I push a few other things.  Nothing.  Then I note a little message that I am not logged in.  So I log in, because I know how to do that.  Now where has the thread gone?  Let's see.  If I back up in my Explorer program, will that deactivate my login?  Better not try that.  Maybe I'll just search for the thread on the home page.  Hmm.  Not there.  And not there either.  Maybe here.  Nope.  Finally, because all computer users harbour a secret belief in magic, I return to my email program and push one of the blue links.  That bops me back to the Bethel website, right to Al's polling question and voila, there is the poll, ready for me to vote.  So I vote that I rarely respond to forums.  Then I try to remember how to respond to forums.  I write the preceding paragraphs, hoping that when it is all over I will somehow get the website to accept my contribution.  That has not always happened.

Do you see why I don't respond to forums?

Do You Respond to Forums?
No, no I don't respond to forums.  Or do I.
Or did I?
Did I?
I did.
I guess I do.
I do respond to forums.

Actually, it all depends on just how much a post catches my interest (at least where blogs are concerned), or if I feel like I have something to say.

I am guessing that every forum post represents a bunch of other posts that didn't make it.
