Coming Up:

WE'RE BACK!!!!

It's also time for another season of youth group and we are gearing up for an incredible ride so mark your calendars:

FIRST NIGHT: MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 14th from 7:00pm - 8:30pm (and every other Monday night form 7:00-8:30 except for holidays until mid December)

We have some new members of the team coming on board and some plans are in the works for some incredible events.  (Could we fit the word 'some' in any more than that?!)

Some FAQ's... (oh no! there's that word again!!)
Where are we meeting?  We are now meeting at the Church building on the Corner of Trail & Mermaid (not The Dock!)
Who can come?  Anybody that wants to come between the ages of Grade 6-12.
What can I expect?  Fun, Food, Formation (of the Spiritual kind of course.)  A typical night will include games, food, possibly some singing, and a closer look at what God has to say to us in the Bible.  In fact, you could summarize the purpose of youth group as "introducing youth to Christ, and providing a fun, safe place for the development of Christian character."  Ask us (youth crew) in person what that means and we'll be glad to tell you.
Will there be other events besides Monday nights?  YES!  From time to time we will plan some big, wide fun events to capture the opportunity to just hang out and have fun.  We'll let you know through this web page, and via other means as well.

We hope to see you there!

The youth crew.

Food for the Soul

So, what kinds of things do we talk about at Bethel youth on Monday nights?

After surveying the youth and input from the leaders, we have decided that every Monday will include discussion on two topics.  On the one hand, we will talk about some basics of faith - what we believe and why.  The other track we're taking is what it means to be a friend (it seemed to be a popular topic among the youth.) And to do that we're looking at what the Bible says in Galatians 5:22-23 where it talks about the fruit of the Spirit.  We believe the characteristics listed there form the foundation of what it means to be a good friend - and a good person in general!

We look forward to seeing fruit - ripe in any season - as part of our ministry to youth this Fall and Winter.  If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact one of the leaders personally (Karen, Tish, Richard or Al) or email srpastor(AT)bethelsechelt(DOT)org
