Men Of Bethel

The Men Of Bethel is a men's group who get together once a month for fellowship, food and faith. We love our Lord Jesus Christ and our mission is to show the Gospel of Jesus Christ in our community.

All men are welcome.

The M.O.B. is Getting Hungry!

The Men Of Bethel are hungry - and what better way to meet those hunger needs than a monthly breakfast!

The M.O.B. has booked the room at Pebbles Restaurant once a month for a breakfast gathering. The first event takes place Saturday, September 15, 2007, 8:00am.  We will have a special guest sharing his testimony and of course, the Pebbles Breakfast menu to satisfy our hunger needs.  Cost?  It depends what you order (and please remember to tip well!!)

Food for the stomach, food for the soul... what a great way to begin a new season!

Casablanca Night a Great Success!

Here's looking at ... all the great folks that made that Casablanca night a huge success!
Great food - no injuries to report (Dr. Dave, the gastroenterologist was there, just in case!) no rogue spaghetti noodles, but lots of great spaghetti and lasagna... even the vegeterian choices!

Anyway, it was a lot of fun, over $1,000 was raised to help support the youth planning to attend SERVE 2007 in Yellowknife, and there were some great costumes as well.  Of note were some of the great sacrifices made to come in period costume (Dan McPherson's chin hasn't felt the wind in years!)

Thanks to all that cooked, served, donated and participated -

Here's looking at you, kid.

Now Showing... The Men of Bethel are planning a special event, for men and women - a night of feasting and fellowship followed by a great flick on the big screen: the 1942 classic, Casablanca.

Date: Saturday, March 10, 2007
Time: 6:30pm
Location: Bethel Baptist Church

Tickets are available by donation after the Sunday service.  The event includes dinner and a movie, with the meal served by the Youth of Bethel (YOB just doesn't have the same appeal as MOB...but we love them anyway) with the proceeds from the ticket sales going to the youth group as they make preparations to attend SERVE '07, a one week missions event in Yellowknife, NWT.

It is a dress up event, although come as you are is just fine... there will be prizes awarded to the person/s with the best period costume (the period being circa 1942, of course!)

Get your tickets soon... and see you at the movies.

(For more information, contact one of the MOB leaders - Randy Dyck, Steve Weatherill, or Jacques Tredoux.)

M.O.B. No Longer Out Of Control !!!

November 8, 2006

A gathering of the MOB (Men Of Bethel) was held on the evening of Nov 7 and although feasting and riotous fellowship occurred, there was only one casualty. Steve Weatherill our master noodle chef was accidentally speared under the fingernail by a rogue spaghetti noodle, a burnt one no less. A group of 25 men started off the evening with a "scoff" of spicy spaghetti and ribs and other delicacies under the close watch of Dr. Dave, a noted gastro specialist.

Dinner was followed by a short DVD by John Eldredge, the author of Wild at Heart. Eldredge talked about the similarity of the Bible story to a few famous tales, such as the Lord of the Rings. He however issued us the warning that "and they lived happily ever after" will not apply to us all, but only to those who know the Lord.

The evening concluded with yet another feast of fine deserts during which more than a few men had second and thirds. No names will be given as WHAT HAPPENS AT MEN'S NIGHT, STAYS AT MEN'S NIGHT.

WE give thanks to the Lord for the fine turn out and look forward to another one real soon.
