On May 19, BC began Phase 2 of its response to Covid-19 by relaxing some restrictions.  The leadership of Bethel met to discuss our next step.

Many of the things we do together as a church increase the risk of transmission: we meet indoors, we are a fairly large group, we sing, and we have a vulnerable community.  The leadership decided it would be wise (a) to keep our worship services suspended for the time being; (b) to see how our community fares with Phase 2; and (c) to consult available resources to develop our own start-up plan.  A team is working on this plan for Bethel so that we can "hit the ground running" when the time is right.

Pastor Brian continues to produce "Encouraging Words."  These audio recordings are under the Sermon tab above.  The Elders also encourage everyone to stay in regular contact with your friends - by phone, email, Zoom/Skype and, with caution, some curbside or outdoor visits.  Whether it is with Covid or by the economic and social shutdowns, many people are suffering.  Our kind words can go a long way to encourage one another.

If you are not on our email list and would like to receive occasional updates, or if you would like someone to talk to and/or to pray for you, please contact the church office.  Calls and emails are regularly monitored.

We need to remind ourselves and others that the whole world is in God's hands.  The Apostle Paul tells us in Colossians 1:17b that "in (Christ) all things hold together."  May we continue to live wisely, by faith and not by fear, and to keep alert and pray for the safety and well-being of others as well as ourselves.

On behalf of the Elders and Deacons,

Pastor Brian Carnahan
